Do you accept insurance?

Yes, Directed Paths accepts Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Oscar Health, Oxford, and United Healthcare. Please note that Medicaid/Medicare plans are not currently accepted.

What if I do not have insurance or have one that you do not accept?

You can still engage in services by being self-pay. There are a limited number of reduced fee slots available. For more information about pricing, please see the Services page.

How do I schedule an appointment?

To schedule an appointment, fill out the form or call the number found on the Contact page. You will receive a reply within 24 to 48 hours with dates of availability.

How are payments made?

Directed Paths clients are required to keep a credit/debit card on file. All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, etc.) are accepted as forms of payment. For self-pay clients, the card on file will be charged prior to services rendered. For clients using insurance, the card on file will be charged through the Headway portal.

What if I’m not sure what services I need?

That’s ok! Starting therapy, whether you have done it before or not, can be daunting. It may be helpful to schedule a Mental Health Consultation appointment to discuss your needs and goals.

What is your cancellation policy?

Sometimes, the unexpected happens. Please cancel and/or reschedule your appointment within 24 hours. Cancellations made less that 24 hours before the appointment will incur a fee. If you are late, you will receive the rest of the time allotted for your session. However, if you are more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, your appointment will be cancelled, and you will incur a fee. Specific details about the fees will be provided once you enroll in services with Directed Paths.

What if we are not a good fit for therapy?

That is ok! This is your journey and it is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist. I hope you feel comfortable enough to discuss the lack of fit with me. I would love to work with you to find a therapist that fits well with you.

Good Faith Estimate

As of January 1, 2022, under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to provide an estimate of expected charges for items and services to uninsured or self-pay individuals.

You should be provided a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. Because the good faith estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate is created, it will not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may be added during your treatment.

If you are billed for more than the Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill. Make sure to keep a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
